HVAC Performance Testing, taught by Brian Kumer

How many times have you heard from customers that “the 2nd floor is hot in the summer and cold in the winter,” yet after doing everything you can to the HVAC system to make them comfortable, you’ve achieved minimal results? This is the class for you!

Instructor Brian Kumer will cover performance testing of a home’s thermal and pressure boundaries, forced air furnaces, and duct systems as well as temperature rise and drop tests, total system air flow measuring methods, total static pressure tests, and pressure drop across coils and air filters. Locating and quantifying leaky ducts in unconditioned spaces can be difficult in the field; the course will address this challenge by using the blower door and pressure pan to screen ducts for leaks and duct pressure testing to quantify the leakage.

Recommended for home performance consultants and HVAC contractors who have experience with residential forced air systems, areable to operate a blower door, and are familiar with air flow measurements.

BPI CEUs will be available for all BPI certified professionals.
